Electra Mining 2016, Nasrec, Johannesburg

J.A. Engineering Works (Pty) Limited is pleased to announce that the official ribbon cut ceremony of the Wildcat JAE42 continuous miner took place at Electra Mining 2016 on Monday, September 12th. The Wildcat JAE42 continuous miner is J.A. Engineering’s first in-house designed miner that is specifically designed for high productivity coal mining operations in South Africa.

Attending the ribbon cut ceremony was the Department of Trade and Industry, Mr. Tapiwa Samanga, Chief Director Primary Minerals who has participated in the ribbon cut event with J.A. Engineering’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Danie van Wyk. Mr. Samanga expressed the importance of local investment and technology innovation in South Africa for sustainable development. Mr. Samanga has called on other South African manufacturers to follow in the same foot step as J.A. Engineering.

Danie van Wyk, J.A. Engineering’s Chief Executive Officer said, “The Wildcat JAE42 continuous miner is J.A. Engineering’s response on what the market has called for in addressing high productivity cutting solutions for the South African coal mining industry”. The Wildcat continuous miner is 90% locally manufactured and procured, creating sustainable investment in South Africa, with the aim to create a safer more productive mining environment.
